Spirax Sarco Spirax Sarco LP11-4 Liquid Level Sensor

Spirax Sarco Spirax Sarco LP11-4 level sensors are used in conjunction with Spirax Sarco LCS1350 level controllers for on/off level control and alarming of steam boilers, tanks or other vessels.

The 4-probe version of the sensor is particularly suitable where a 3-lamp "electronic display" level/alarm indicator is fitted. The sensor body is earthed via a threaded connection and the boiler or tank usually forms the earth circuit. The sensor can also be used on concrete or plastic tanks where one of the probes is used as the earth terminal or a separate earth rod or plate is provided.

The 4 probes of the LP11-4 can be removed and cut to the required length prior to installation, note that the probes need to be ordered separately. When the probes are immersed in a conductive liquid, a circuit loop is formed and when the level falls below the probes, the resistance increases, giving a signal to the controller indicating that the probes are outside the level. Note: This sensor cannot be installed outdoors without additional protection.

• mountingLP11-4 is designed to be mounted on a BSP Rp1 (1" BSP tapered) screwed flange or cover plate, the thread specification must be specified at the time of installation. When installed in a boiler or in a tank where there are strong disturbances, it is recommended to use a protection pipe with a minimum nominal bore diameter of 80mm. If installed outdoors, it should be protected from the weather.

When it is necessary to disconnect the wiring, it can be done simply by opening the wire unit without removing the cable gland.
