The Spirax Sarco Fig 12 Bronze Strainer is a threaded Y-strainer made of bronze. A stainless steel strainer with a 0.8mm pore size is supplied as standard, other pore sizes and mesh sizes are available, and a Monel strainer option is also available. The filter cover can be drilled and tapped for the installation of drain and drain valves if required.
Standards and Certification
This product is fully compliant with the requirements of the European Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and will carry the relevant markings where necessary. Typical test reports for valve bodies and caps from the manufacturer are available and all certification/inspection requirements need to be specified when placing an order.
Dimensions and connections
Sizes include ½", ¾", 1", 1¼", 1½", 2" and 2½". Connections are threaded with a choice of BSP T Rp (ISO 7-1) or NPT standards.

- Minimum Allowable Temperature: -198 °C.
- Maximum working pressure for saturated steam service: Not labeled. The product can be safely used under full vacuum with a maximum cold hydraulic test pressure of 38 bar g.

Security information, installation and maintenance
For details, see the Installation and Maintenance Instructions (IM-S26-01) included with the product.
- Installation Precautions: Filters should be installed in the flow direction indicated by the valve body. For steam or gas applications, the strainer pockets should be in a horizontal plane; for liquid systems, the pockets should face down. Suitable isolation valves need to be installed for safe maintenance and trap replacement.
- Maintenance Precautions: Maintenance can be performed on the filter in the pipeline after safety procedures have been followed. It is recommended to replace the gasket with a new one for each maintenance.
Product disposal
This product can be recycled and properly disposed of without causing ecological harm.
