Spirax Sarco Model BCV Drain Control Valves feature a Spira-trol body and are designed for use in steam boiler drains and other high-pressure system drain or low-flow applications. Typically, the BCV is used in conjunction with a blowdown controller to form an automatic BCV control system. The flow rate of the valve is regulated by the stroke of the control stem, and the BCV has a seat that is resistant to erosion and a highly efficient valve shutoff. A ¼" BSP plug is provided at the bottom of the valve for the installation of a sample cooler.

  • Motorized form: When the control signal is connected to the control valve, the valve opens to the position set by the internal limit switch.
  • Pneumatic form: When the solenoid valve is opened, compressed air enters the actuator and opens the valve to the set travel position.

Pressure/Temperature Limits

Pressure/temperature limits vary for different models and connection standards as follows:

  • BCV4 Series: Valve body design grades are PN40, PN63, PN100, etc. The maximum allowable pressure, maximum allowable temperature, minimum allowable temperature, maximum working pressure (saturated steam), maximum working temperature, minimum working temperature under different grades have corresponding values, and the maximum hydrostatic test pressure is 1.5 times of PMA.
  • BCV6 Series: Valve body design grades involve different pressure classes under EN, ASME, JIS / KS standards, etc. The maximum allowable pressure, maximum allowable temperature and other parameters corresponding to each grade are clearly defined, and the maximum hydrostatic test pressure is 1.5 times the PMA.
  • BCV7 Series: Valve design classes include PN 25, ASME class 125 or ASME class 250, JIS / KS 10K, etc. The corresponding pressure/temperature parameters as well as the maximum hydrostatic test pressure have specific values.
  • BCV8 Series: Valve design classes such as PN63 or PN100, ASME class 600, JIS / KS 30K or 40K, with each pressure/temperature parameter and maximum hydrostatic test pressure listed for each class.

Security information, installation and maintenance

For details, refer to the Installation and Maintenance Guide IM-P403-103 shipped with the product.
Installation Note: Install the drain control valve in the direction of the arrow on the valve body and position the actuator vertically above the piping. Of course it can be installed in other directions, but never upside down.
Disposal: This product can be recycled and does not cause ecological problems when disposed of properly.
