Description

Product Overview

Spirax Sarco PC10HP is an ASME Class 600 pipeline connector engineered for universal swivel connector steam traps. The unit mounts permanently into steam, condensate, and compressed air pipelines, allowing the trap module to be attached or replaced using only two bolts without dismantling pipework. Traps can be rotated through a full 360° on the connector mating face to establish the correct horizontal orientation regardless of piping direction.

Key Features

  • Permanent pipeline installation allows fast two-bolt steam trap replacement, minimizing system downtime.
  • Rotates through 360° to keep steam traps in their required horizontal plane in vertical, horizontal, or inclined pipe layouts.
  • Cast austenitic stainless steel body in ASTM A 351 CF8 (Type 304) rated to ASME Class 600.
  • Operates up to 99.3 bar g (1440 psi g) at 38 °C with maximum temperatures up to 425 °C (797 °F).
  • Designed for saturated steam service up to 64 bar g (928 psi g) at 281 °C (538 °F).
  • Rated for full vacuum service and tested to a cold hydraulic test pressure of 149 bar g (2161 psi g).
  • Connection options include screwed BSP T Rp (ISO 7-1), NPT, socket weld to ASME B16.11 / BS 3799 Class 3000, and flanged versions on request.

Applications

  • Steam mains drainage and trace heating lines requiring rapid trap turnaround
  • Condensate return headers subject to high pressures and temperatures
  • Compressed air and non-hazardous Group 2 gas distribution systems
  • Modular steam system installations utilizing Spirax Sarco universal swivel steam traps

Compatible Steam Traps

The PC10HP pipeline connector is designed for use with the following Spirax Sarco swivel connector steam traps:

  • Balanced pressure thermostatic traps: UBP32, UBP32M
  • Thermodynamic traps: UTD26, UTD30L, UTD30H, UTDS46M, UTD52L
  • Inverted bucket traps: UIB30, UIB45
  • Ball float traps: UFT32, UFT14HC
  • Bimetallic traps: USM21, USM32

Universal trap gaskets and connector bolts are supplied with the chosen steam trap.

Installation and Maintenance Guidelines

  • Install the PC10HP with fluid flow following the direction of the arrow indicated on the connector body. Flow can be horizontal (either direction), vertical, or inclined.
  • The connection face for the swivel connector steam trap must always be positioned in the vertical plane unless the specific trap manual dictates otherwise.
  • Gasket mating faces are sealed with high-integrity spiral wound gaskets; keep gasket faces protected from damage, weld spatter, and impacts during pipework installation.
  • Fit suitable upstream and downstream isolation valves to ensure safe maintenance. A downstream check valve is recommended when discharging into a closed condensate return line.
  • When installing socket weld variants, carry out welding to ASME IX or BS EN approved procedures.
  • Thermal insulation of the PC10HP body is recommended post-installation to prevent radiated heat loss and burn injuries, provided the connected steam trap type permits insulation.
  • There are no spare parts available for the PC10HP pipeline connector. For servicing the attached trap, consult the specific trap instruction manual.
