Spirax Sarco SG13 Brass Viewing Mirror

Description

The Spirax Sarco SG13 Brass Sightglass is a serviceable multi-window sightglass made of brass with a cylindrical sightglass and threaded connections. This sightglass is used to detect downstream discharge from steam traps on pressurized condensate recovery piping. It can be installed directly into the steam trap body as a standard inspection system, eliminating the need for screwed connections and reducing joints and leakage, and can also be installed on piping to observe flow direction.

Security information, installation and maintenance

Refer to the Installation and Maintenance Guide (IM-S32-04) supplied with the product for detailed information.
WARNING: Condensate from certain applications can have a dissolving effect on sight glass, especially if the water contains corrosive alkaline and acidic substances. Therefore, it is recommended that the sight glass be inspected periodically. In case of thinning, the glass should be replaced immediately. When viewing, take care to wear safety goggles to protect your eyes. Measures should be taken to ensure that in the event of failure of the viewing glass, the broken glass will not cause injury to personnel and equipment.
Installation: The sight glass is threaded directly to the trap outlet. Although the sight glass can be installed in any orientation, it must be oriented in the same direction as the steam trap.
Disposal: This product can be recycled and proper disposal will not cause environmental problems. However, if the temperature exceeds 315°C during disposal, PTFE gaskets may decompose into hydrofluoric acid.
