Spirax Sarco UFT32 sealed stainless steel ball float steam trap connects to universal pipeline connectors to ensure continuous, immediate condensate removal across process equipment and steam mains. Engineered from austenitic stainless steel with a fully welded body-to-cover joint, the trap handles differential pressures up to 32 bar without breaking into pipe connections during replacement.
Mounted using two bolts to a separate pipeline connector, the UFT32 reduces maintenance downtime to minutes while preserving pipeline integrity. An integral balanced pressure thermostatic capsule automatically purges air during system start-up, preventing air binding and enabling smooth thermal process operation.

Discharge Capacities
Capacities comply with ISO 7842 and represent discharge at steam saturation temperatures. When discharging cold or sub-cooled condensate during system start-up, the thermostatic air vent remains open, providing additional condensate discharge capacity at least 100% above the hot condensate values.
For example, at 5 bar differential pressure, the UFT32-14 discharges 195 kg/h of hot condensate and a minimum of 390 kg/h under cold start-up conditions.
Installation and Maintenance
Before undertaking installation, ensure pipeline pressure is isolated and safely vented to atmospheric conditions. Observe the following installation requirements:
- Mount the UFT32 horizontally with the ‘TOP’ label positioned upwards and the drain plug facing down.
- Verify that both connector gasket faces are clean, undamaged, and that transfer passages are unobstructed.
- Apply anti-seize compound to the connector screw threads (3).
- Hand-tighten screws to bring mating faces into parallel alignment, then torque evenly across screws using a 9/16” A/F socket to 30 - 35 N m (22 - 26 lbf ft).
- Open isolation valves slowly to avoid hydraulic shock, and inspect for joint leaks.
